Poverty

Fifty years ago, President Lyndon Johnson declared “War on Poverty.” It sounded great to me. I was taught at Princeton, “We’re a rich country. All we have to do is tax the rich, and then use that money to create programs that will lift the poor out of poverty.” Government created job-training programs for the strong and expanded social security for the weak....

Johnson’s War brought further progress, but progress then stopped. It stopped because government is not good at making a distinction between needy and lazy. It taught moms not to marry the father of their kids because that would reduce their welfare benefits. Welfare invited people to be dependent. Some people started to say, “Entry-level jobs are for suckers.” Many could live almost as well without the hassle of work.

Despite spending an astonishing $22 trillion dollars, despite 92 different government welfare programs, poverty stopped declining. Government’s answer? Spend more!

I’m on record as favoring a basic income guarantee to replace our plethora of welfare programs.

It won’t happen because both liberals AND conservatives want to control people’s behavior and letting people decide what to do with their money just grates those who want to control them.

And captive people are a reliable voting bloc.

The captive voting bloc is the whole thing. And these days it is becoming the majority.

The line are blurred. Big government, Big business are becoming one and the same. Where do you think we get our leaders from, advertising money, media? Of course! What liberals do not understand is when they expand government they are empowering corporations. It is they who elect the overseers. Many “Republicans” have the inverse problem.

LBJ Used the War on Poverty to pass the Great Society. The Great Society was intended to inculcate socialism into America. It’s darker purpose was to permanently place the poor in servitude to the demon crat party. The destruction of familes, futures, and dreams was deliberate. I am not a collage graduate, much less one from Princeton, but I have NEVER been fooled by the likes of LBJ, Academia, and marxists. I have often wondered why so few can see through them.

You can’t pull the poor out of poverty. You can only throw them a rope and then let them pull themselves out.

The modern state is in a condition of permanent war against human beings and their historically-formed societies.

However hollow and futile victory will be, Leviathan is winning.

In the War on Poverty, Poverty and Big Government Won

The home team never had a chance as the game was fixed right from the start.

The Government keeps moving the goal posts and beefing up their side with outsiders who can't even speak the language.

We beat the Soviet Union and became the Soviet Union.
