In This Election, Obama’s Party Benches Him
New York Times ^ | OCT. 7, 2014 | JONATHAN MARTIN

When he soared to victory by almost 10 million votes in 2008, President Obama won in states like Virginia that Democratic candidates had not captured since 1964. He was trumpeted as a transformational leader who remade American politics by creating a new electoral map and a diverse voter coalition to shape the Democratic Party for the 21st century.

But for now he has been reduced to something else: an isolated political figure who is viewed as a liability to Democrats in the very states where voters by the thousands had once stood to cheer him.

When Mr. Obama entered the campaign fray last week, he did so by returning to the unconditional embrace of his own hometown, in a blue state where the incumbent Democratic senator faces scant opposition and the Democratic governor is running in part on his support for the Affordable Care Act. On Tuesday, the president attended private fund-raisers in Manhattan, to be followed by similar events in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Arkansas it is not.

As November nears, Mr. Obama and his loyalists are being forced to reconcile that it is not only Democrats in conservative-leaning states, like Senator Mark Pryor of Arkansas, who are avoiding him. The president who became the first Democrat since Franklin D. Roosevelt to twice win a majority of the vote is flying in politically restricted airspace.

Big deal. He’s still the most powerful person on the planet, could declare martial law, institute wage & price controls, take over whole industries or destroy the whole world in about 15 minutes. What’s a little politics compared to that?

Here in the Florida Panhandle, the Republicans are running a whole lot of ads tying Democrats to Obama. I mean they are really hammering him. Especially one in which Charlie Crist keeps saying how much he loves Obama.

Not sure if they are running the same ads in South Florida.

In other words open the border and let the flood storm in

A random person from the Safeway check-out line would be a better president than this punk.

Yet he can bring the negro vote in (10 to 15 per cent).
What a conundrum for Dems.

Fortunately the media will hide his connection to the candidate while the ‘ground game’ brings in the negro vote. Thank goodness the media will keep the borrowing and spending going to the best of their ability.

He'd be the first ex-dictator with a billion in a Swiss account who offed himself.

They may not want him to campaign for them, but they’re certainly looking forward to all the manufactured votes he’s got waiting in the wings to throw the election.

They are running similar ads in CO from what I hear, hence the GOP is doing well. In places where they are running crappy RINO get along campaigns, like NC, they are failing.

“He wants to be Secretary General of the United Nations or something similar.”

Bingo. Include with him the other establishment politicians, of both parties, who are focused on their acceptance and future positions/business opportunities with the global government.
