The question that truly needs to be asked is why are the Republicans acting like mindless zombies and attacking any and everyone who doesn't meet the Christ like figure they demand?

That could be an excellent argument for not having conquered Iraq in the first place, but once we went in we weren't going to let whatever happened happen. Once we were there, we had to try to prevent something like ISIS from forming, and that would have meant a long-term presence with something like "nation-building." I don't see how Cruz's vision would have prevented the present situation from developing or have made it less likely.
Cruz is a foreign policy hard-liner, not an isolationist, but he is a tough-minded realist in a party contaminated by the ideological impulse to export America’s political system to the Middle East.
"Realist" can mean different things. I don't know if lot of the people who've been described as "realists" actually think Ted is on the same page.

Anyway, of course the bushies hate Cruz. They have every reason to fear and loathe him.
He represents Americans.
They’re a “political” dynasty. They want their little Jebby to live in the White House. They want their “NWO” fantasy fulfilled through the advent of Amnesty. Cruz is a threat to that.

Both George Herbert Walker Bush and George W. Bush worked not for America's freedom, but to help enslave us. JEB! is just the latest iteration of the Dream of the Elites. He will be the next president regardless of what the Orifice of Omaha says. He will be portrayed the anti-Obama who will save us from the mess Obama made. This is why some notable Dems are attacking Obama now - to portray him as the worst president ever to both sides of the aisle.
JEB! will insist that the only way to save the US economy is to join a one-world currency. This will lead inexorably to a one-world government.
Then, the real darkness will fall.
