He really shouldn't be. He votes reliably conservatively on the whole. The problem with Roberts is that he's also part of the "establishment" wing and is kind of the poster boy for "in Washington too long and out of touch with his state".
Seems there would be much better targets for the tea party to being down. I don’t understand their reasoning on this one. They opened the door for a liberal.
