A FOURTY FOUR HOUR HOME SEARCH FOR METH????? Why? was the quantity so high and potent, or were there 38 otherwise unoccupied officers out trying to impress the Chief? I don’t understand why so many officers were put onto this. Of course something like the IRS ‘lost’ emails don’t warrant this level of response ever.

Probably because it dawned on someone they F’d up and were trying to find something, ANYTHING, that would make it a righteous take down.

Because they shot and killed a man over the word of a car thief. They were probably desperate to find something, anything. I'd imagine as the hours wore on, the dreaded feeling of "we really f###'ed this up good." must've manifested itself.

Doesn't anybody do any investigating anymore? Any detective work? Or is it just, "thief says he found the drugs in the car he stole. Let's put on our cammies and go kick his door down."

At least the cops put everything back like it was before they arrived...

I’m surprised they didn’t plant some so that their kill would be “justified”.

Because they realized they screwed up and did their best to do CYA.

44 hours, not 44 officers. I suspect they when they didn't find anything they continued the search while an accomplice searched elsewhere for meth to plant but came up empty.

This $hiite will not stop until these criminals start going to jail for long sentences and civil damages are paid out of the police pension fund.

They murdered an innocent man and felt compelled to find some way - any way to justify it.

You’d think the cops could drop a find in a tenth that amount of time.

I can’t believe the cops believed the guy in the stolen car. I also can’t believe a judge was talked into signing a search warrant.
