Single car...2AM.....what more needs to be said?
Let me guess: “high rate of speed”
Am I close?
How sad.
Are the “Moms” going to “Demand Action”? We’ve got to do something about these assault vehicles.
As a teen I was limited to driving a pickup truck. I later learned the family did this deliberately to avoid allowing too many in the cab together egging each other on.
Or it could have been simple driver fatigue. I won’t take that bet however.
Turns out the driver, who is 16 years old, had a restricted drivers license, meaning he was NOT allowed to drive between 11pm-5am and could only drive if he had someone over the age of 25 in the car with him
Apparently driving daddy’s BMW, or maybe a BMW that daddy gave the kid.
Once upon a time, kids had to work their a****s off to buy a car. I sure did.
Not any more.
God, receive their souls.
Driver’s license restrictions for youthful, inexperienced drivers exist for this very reason. The fault is on the neglectful PARENTS who apparently wanted to be “cool” and let their teenagers go in a fast, powerful car on a 70 mph freeway in the middle of the night. They could have done the “uncool” thing and dropped them off in a minivan and picked them up at the end of a night’s fun. Completely preventable. Rest in leace, babies. There will sadly be no peace for a lifetime for those left behind.
Another story said the driver was 16, not licensed to drive after 11pm. There’s no good reason to have a 16 y/o driving a BMW, and no parent should allow their kid to haul more than one passenger at a time until they’ve had their license for a year or two. Too easy to district with 6 in a car and that inexperienced a driver. So sad for all the families. Every parent’s worst nightmare.
