What they really meant to say:

History is full of examples: Only tyrants want your guns. If that isn't enough warning, just ask yourself: In what socialist country is it legal for citizens to keep and bear arms?

He should try a buy back of guns. 5 rolls of toilet paper for each gun turned in.
From what here about the ‘success’ of his socialist national system - that might be very difficult since there are severe shortages of even basic items like that.

Yeah, the wording is a bit unfortunate... but it does get the point across.
It’s always fun to ask one how they disagree with the CPUSA on things other than minor policy phraseology.... 99% of the time it’ll stump them and shut them up.
People control is a prime example - Communists want it, so do they but somehow they are different..... sure..
