The Obama administration is initiating a program to give refugee status to some young people from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador in response to the influx of unaccompanied minors arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Under the program, immigrants from those countries who are lawfully in the United States will be able to request that child relatives still in those three countries be resettled in the United States as refugees. The program would establish in-country processing to screen the young people to determine if they qualify to join relatives in the U.S.

The word “camp” brings to my mind refugees being held separately and given the bare necessities. In this case, the are treated better than citizens, and let loose to mess up our schools and neighborhoods.

‘Refugee’ isn’t just a word. It’s a legal term. When an immigrant is given ‘refugee’ status, he is suddenly eligible for all sorts of state aid otherwise unavailable. He gets housing subsidies, medical care, food stamps, etc. In other words, all that stuff that you and me have to work for.
Somalis, Ethiopians, Southeast Asians, all are given refugee status. Oftentimes the aid lasts for decades.
How were they allowed to cross the southern Mexican border heading for northern border adjacent to Mexico/US border - Mexico having very strict immigration laws and what-not.

The MOST annoying thing is that they go to the top of the waiting lists for Senior Housing,affordable housing,and Section 8.
A few years back an elderly couple in my town,BOTH WWII vets, were bounced back for Senior Housing because of refugees.
