Mark Levin’s Simple Plan to Put a Conservative in the White House
The Daily Signal ^ | 9-30-14 | Melissa Quinn

Hard-charging radio commentator Mark Levin is sick of waiting for the Republican Party to nominate a conservative for president, and today he outlined his plan to accomplish just that.

Speaking at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, the talk radio giant and bestselling author issued a call to action to the crowd of social conservatives, prescribing a grassroots movement to elect a conservative to the White House in 2016.

Levin lamented that Americans under age 50 haven’t yet had the chance to vote for a true conservative such as Ronald Reagan for president and called on conference attendees to spend the next six months laying the groundwork for the 2016 election.

Does it involve some kind of a nuclear detonation?

I really want to see that timeline but can’t seem to bring it up at the link. Is there a better link someone might have?

Thank you in advance.

Levin called on conservatives to rally behind one or two candidates who are “articulate, intelligent, charismatic.”

There's really only one choice, Ted Cruz.

Seems to be the only logical choice at this time.

RE :”“From an election perspective, it keeps happening,” Levin said. “The Republican establishment picks off conservatives.”
To prevent this from happening during the presidential primaries, Levin called on conservatives to rally behind one or two candidates who are “articulate, intelligent, charismatic.”Once that occurs, he said, the grassroots should rally behind those candidates.
“I can’t stand another election where I turn on the TV somewhere and am told the only one who can win is [Sen. John] McCain and the only one who can win is [Mitt] Romney.”

It sounds so simple Mark as do all your plans, except I don't remember you doing that in 2011 and 2012.
Maybe because there were none.

Maybe cause you knew that neither Newt, Rick, nor Michelle were getting that nomination, much less anywhere near the WH.

To beat the establishment candidate we need an alternative with a WINNING record.

That ruled out those three.

Mark, Reagan had a real record when he ran in 1980.

It’s astounding how poorly all but a very few conservative “possibles” can articulate conservative principles.

They are such simple knuckle-dragging concepts, right? So how come there are maybe 8 people in all of Congress who can discuss them as if they have any familiarity with them at all?

This is NOT the America of 1976 or 1980.

Just because the formula Reagan stuck to eventually succeeded, does not mean that same approach is guaranteed success today. The current culture and government has an oligarchy now in firm control of society and their parties behind their ramparts.

The Mob does not allow itself to be reformed by civil means.

I like Mark’s ideas, the problem is he has no contingency for circumventing real-world institutionalized tyranny and corruption.

For a man who preaches that Washington will not allow itself to be reformed and that ‘fixing’ the federal beast will have to come from OUTSIDE the entire system - I’m baffled that his solution in this case is to once again attempt to make a liberal party, Conservative when Mississippi ought to have been instructive as to the futility of working within a corrupted party.

The Founders could not reform the tyranny of king and Parliament, why we continue to delude ourselves that we can do so is an absolute rejection of reality and yet another symptom of Normalcy Bias.

Based on some of his Senate endorsements I must have a different definition of “conservative” than Mark. Liz Cheney? LOL.

Not to mention a different definition of “articulate, intelligent, and charismatic.” Mark Bevin? Milton Wolf?

Bingo.

Reagan had a real record when he ran in 1980.

Yep, and Reagan had a winning personality as well. You just had to like him. Folks like Santorum lose on both counts. No winning record and no personality.

Um, so what? Are you just afraid we might not win? That's always a possibility, even if the cards look stacked in our favor, instead of against us. The very process of creating a new political movement unites people from different factions, and also brings into the fold people who weren't politically active before—contributing ideas, money, and unseen possibilities. It helps to educate everyone in the principles of government, and could bring about a general American renaissance—which we need.

What's the alternative? Wait for a better century? A different country? Let's take this one, it's got a lot going for it. God doesn't demand that we be successful every time—just faithful every time. Good will come of it in any case. (And who knows? It might work.)

The other problem is that the media has now developed an Immune Response to nip any future budding Reagans in the bud.

Used very effectively on Sarah Palin for example.

I do not subscribe to the idiocy of attempting a hostile takeover of a Mob-run institution as a political party.

Conservatives will need to create a new party, the existing parties are corrupted beyond redemption, repair or reform.

If Conservatives continue to think they can “Win” by playing on the GOP team, we will forever be rendered irrelevant.

Agreed, Palin is great but she was successfully vilified. She was inexperienced with the liberal media and half of the McLame staff had it in for her. She never even had a chance.

Cruz on the other hand has already had trial by fire and he seems to be able to stand up to the worst of the worst.
