The BBC reports that there has been "fierce fighting" between ISIS and government troops to the west of Baghdad, and intense airstrikes from the US-led coalition against the jihadists.
However, "the insurgents have not retreated".
"The Islamic State are on the verge of entering Baghdad...Over 1,000 Iraqi troops were killed by them yesterday," warned Canon Andrew White, vicar of Baghdad this morning.
"As I said all military strikes are doing nothing. If we ever needed your prayer it is now."

Obamba and all Bush haters have one goal...and that will be getting film of the evacuation of the US Embassy in Baghdad when it is getting run over. That’s It! That is the endgame. I wouldn;t be surprised if some Hollywood folks are there filming it. They didn;t anticipate the Benghazi raid but they’ll be prepared for this one!

And it will always be Bush's fault that Baghdad fell. Who lost Saigon? Well the USA lost, according to leftists, and Nixon was responsible. But of course Nixon left Vietnam with the capability and expectation of them holding onto their country. Peace with honor. And then the Democrats hounded Nixon out of office, took over the Congress, and defunded the South Vietnamese. Essentially assuring that Saigon would fall to the North, who were still being supported by the Ruskies and the Chinese.

Was just gonna say...Barry is gonna be forced to put boots on the ground sooner rather than later.
To: Georgia Girl 2
Obama said he will NOT put boots on the ground. From the sound of this article, it is too late to put boots there.

I would not be surprised if he secretly wants the Caliphate. He just can’t appear to want it.

I'm thinking of all who liberated Baghdad - those who gave their lives and limbs and who suffer from PTSD.
Today I pray for the soul of a wonderful young man who was killed in Afghanistan many years ago. I will never forget John.
And I pray for soldiers in the ME today who are being treated as nothing but pawns by BHO. The Middle East is a complete cluster - that very much includes B. Hussein O.'s Arab Spring

“Soldiers” - I mean all military, their friends and families, and all civilian staff, too.

Yes its inevitiable. Air strikes will work somewhat at first and then to really ferret these people out combat troops will be needed. I read either Fri or Sat that they were already sending 500 troops over. They will do it in dribs and drabs hoping nobody notices.
