In a way, he has, I don’t like his policies, but what he has done as POTUS has both confirmed and shed plenty of light on what is very wrong with leftist ideology, as well as given us a somewhat adverse opportunity to refine our ideology. I don’t agree with Beck most of the time, but the reality is no pain no gain.

The way the world is headed, I think that light would have been shed-—for those who need it-—regardless.

Beck says he’s tired of being “against” things.

Liberal are accustomed to tv personalities backing down or apologizing when they are attacked in any way (not that this wimp’s comments really amounted to an attack) - they can’t get over someone like him responding in a nice way because he has a good message.

A thread I bookmarked a few years ago with video of Rowe talking about his realization about how overregulated we are and how feeling good often gets in the way of getting the job done.

We’re also poorly informed. Trade jobs are heavily underrated in today’s society. We need them though, and a lot of people could do a decent job with them. I changed to electrician from trying rather fruitlessly to fight to get something in the sciences with a masters. I eventually decided, seeing as how being an electrician is a decent balance between building and design, and in the fact that I didn’t have to load on tons of extra debt to earn the trade certificate, and the schedule worked out with my family situation, that it was a worthwhile pursuit. A few years later I am glad to see the message Mike Rowe is putting out there that jobs like mine as an electrician are worth pursuing for a lot of people, even people such as myself, who earned the University Degree first.

There’s plenty to be said for the pure adventure that comes with some jobs.

Rowe commented on the guys who work on the Mackinac bridge in Michigan. He said that if you can make 50 or 60 grand per year, live in beautiful country, and get the experience of standing on top of the towers where you can see the curvature of the earth. Its worth doing.

I suspect he was vastly understating their salaries......

I have several friends who are electricians with Chrysler, both of whom are making well over $100K per year.......

Do you throw the gal with the glossy toes out the back of the boat to troll fer the gator?

Like we do here way up north for walleyes with the colored-spoon lures and the chartreuse spinners?
