Redskins fans are mad at Phil Simms for his stated desire to avoid using the team name on Thursday night.
Some of them took out their anger by bringing anti-Simms signs to FedEx Field. Simms is part of the CBS broadcast team working Thursday’s Redskins-Giants game.

Now I must admit to the fact that I was an Eagles fan in the Buddy Ryan days, but that does not change what Phil Simms is. It only makes me enjoy it more.
FWIW, Mark Bavarro is my personal hero in sports and in life.
Phil Simms is a bad analyst and on top of that he’s injecting his personal political bias. Tired of this. Give me John Madden and Pat Summerall any day over the sports drive-by commentators and PC wusses we have today.
It says “Redskins” on the uniforms and on the field in huge letters in the endzone. If Simms felt really strongly about this issue, he would have refused to work the game.
ESPN is running a pretty good college game right now. Texas Tech 14 Okla State 7 with 9:48 remaining in the first half.
The brouhaha over the name is all just simmsantics.
What is really amusing is his fake TX accent. It just doesn’t sound like anybody from TX I know. Fake fake fake

I don’t like Dan Snyder but I would like to have him tell the networks etal- If you don’t want to use my team name, I will not allow you access to the team.
Then if CBS gets all ‘moralistic’ with him, bring up the fact that Mayweather (the boxer that has 4 or 5 fights on CBS/SHOWTIME?) for a couple million bucks and sort of mention the run ins Meriweather has had inre Domestic Violence... If his announcers etc see fit to rag on Football Players, why is Mayweather on your payroll....
Just like the whole mismaladministration - they just get very selective when climbing the soap box....

Aren't Thursday games bad for players because it doesn't give their bodies enough time to recover if they played the previous Sunday?

Heard the Police Chief in Ferguson (Jackson??) apologize to the world INCLUDING the ‘peaceful demonstrators who the police may have interfered with’, the citizens of Ferguson and the State of MO, said all kinds of mistakes were made and they will work at getting them resolved.
To the parents for leaving the body for 5 hours (I am kind of ‘on the fence’.... Didn’t hear him mention that if their baby had acted right he would still be a problem to them...
Anyway, with all that apologizing, one would think a RESIGNATION would be immediate but ‘We don’t play that way anymore’.
The ‘new rule’ is just throw an ‘apology’ out there and continue about your business...
