So why would a marketing company care what someone living in a remote jungle did last weekend?

Their buying power isn’t really significant is it?

Huh? It's a business. They make their money through advertising. If you don't want to advertise with them, don't.

So far, the plans are to provide access for parts of the world with very little infrastructure.

So, who's going to pay for all the devices that the billions of people in infrastructure-challenged areas are going to need?

Obama's stash?

“More proof FB is owned and operated by the government. Zuckerburg is only the FACE of facebook.”

I'm pretty certain these kids started it but eventually got “an offer they couldn't refuse” from the Feds when the “law enforcement” capability was realized.

“So, who's going to pay for all the devices that the billions of people in infrastructure-challenged areas are going to need? Obama’s stash?”

Simple internet devices are becoming cheaper than food. They will eventually be throw-away devices like pocket solar calculators.

Last year I bought a 10” tablet PC for a toddler for $20. In Manhattan! Now imagine how much these things cost in China
