A woman is behind bars after a Broward Sheriff’s deputy found her baby in the trunk of her car during a traffic stop.
Breona Watkins, 19, is facing a slew of charges including child abuse without great bodily harm, resisting an officer without violence, operating without a valid driver’s license, and no safety belt for a passenger under 18.

She didn’t stop immediately. She had a young passenger crawl in the back and shove the baby into the trunk via the back seat access.
Was driving around without a baby car seat....didn’t want to get in trouble for that. So naturally she had the baby put in the trunk. Genius.
Yeah, Genius.
Traded a ticket (or more likely, a warning) for jailtime.
Not to mention what it says about a mother who is willing to do that to her baby.
Off the main topic, but I’m curious how many ways a Gestapo police force could use the “resisting an officer without violence” charge. Simply telling them “no” when they stop & frisk you, or try to take your DNA at a DUI stop?
I didn’t ride in a car seat when I was a baby.
We rode in the back shelf under the rear window or the bed of the truck.
Neither did the infant oozing brain matter after she was launched and her head impaled on a parking break stick. She didn't live to talk about it.
