This is so outrageous I don’t know where to start. Even if we accept the interpretation of the law as plausible (I don’t), wtf justifies the use of SWAT in this situation?? This is going to polarize the people against law enforcement and the judicial system, to the point where no one one will support them.

I doubt it.
So long as they have Iphones, Big screen TVs and Pizza delivery, the people just don’t care.

"Stop Snitchin'" is going to become a white middle class philosophy, very soon.

I’m not so sure. Have you seen how many “law & order” boot lickers there are here on FR? They will defend any action by the cops.

I think that just it. Apparently, we've never identified what constitutes the use of SWAT teams. Thus any crime no matter how small, or the recovery of any evidence can currently justify it's use.

We need to pass legislation putting boundaries on the use of force. Just like we need to pass legislation reversing government's ability to seize assets without a conviction.

SWAT is becoming SOP, and has become SOP in some towns, for anything at all including missed loan payments and multiple parking tickets. Both have happened.
