A look at almost all the polling shows that this is supposed to be the GOPs year. The Republican Party has everything to gain control of the Senate, greater control of the House, an effective means of stopping the President Barack Obamas agenda. It is difficult though not entirely impossible to imagine the GOP not meeting at least their goal for the Senate. Though the poll is a tremendous outlier, my colleague RMJ noted earlier that Mark Udalls performance in Colorado is abysmal. This is but one example of Democrats slipping in places they, frankly, shouldnt be.
Polling itself is all over the place, but the trends are remaining the same. Republicans are in the lead. They could take the Senate, and I believe they ultimately will. In speaking with Brandon Finnigan of the Ace of Spades Decision Desk on the RedState Weekly Briefing Sunday, he expressed some reservations about that chance, and he has a point. If the Republicans dont score a sweep this year, they may not get the chance again for six more years. This is the cycle that has the most vulnerable Democratic seats, and the Republicans do not seem to be taking advantage of that as well as they should be.
Couple that now with Ericks post regarding the National Republican Senatorial Committee earlier. Theyve run out of money, and are asking for more from the very groups they spent their money attacking already. Instead of sitting back and waiting for a contender to blow their wads on, they fought for weak, insufferable candidates who now stand the chance of losing in seats Republicans should comfortably hold.
So, why is this?

"but in their Era of No Feelings. This Era includes:
◾The hushing of political attacks on Obama and Obamacare (largely during the 2012 election, but even now it lingers)
◾The pushing of moderate legislation (read: Democratic bills with negligible Republican rewards)
◾The greenlighting of Obamas agenda
◾The promotion of the same old (emphasis on old) guys who have run the show for years and have lost touch with the base
◾Thad Cochran, who may or may not actually remember what feelings are (outside of feelings for farm animals)"
Era of No Feelings, milquetoast moderation, pale pastels, a dime-store New Deal, as pushed by John Boring and Marbles in his Mouth McConnell!
The Republican party has convinced me they will not defend the constitution so there is no point in voting. The end of liberty will be at hand whoever wins...
Long live the national de americo
No agenda and no message. The GOPe are clerks for the corporatist lobby.
Joe approaches this from the angle that the GOP leadership even WANTS to win the Senate majority. What evidence is there at present that shows the repubs thirst for victory in November?
One thing on which the dems should be credited — they KNOW victory. They thirst for it, they strategize for it, they attack their enemies to attain it and the press that attack until they achieve it.
No, Joe... they won't.
How many conservatives will decide not to fall for the GOPe crap this year?
Anyone making decisions based on feelings should be locked up!
REMEMBER MISSISSIPPI!!!
REMEMBER MISSISSIPPI!!!
Who ever is running the Republican party in Washington D.C. has got liberal loving democrats for advicers.
They haven’t a clue whats going on out here beyond their own self-absorbed echo chambers and their fixing to once again steal defeat from the jaws of victory becase of it. You would think they would have learned from 2012 that RINO politics DONT work.
2010 proved we can win when we play to our hearts, and conservative passion.
Never give up keep voting in the primary the party will split and the RINO’s will jump boat
