Its good to see President Obama move beyond the we dont have a strategy yet phase in the fight against the Islamic State.
On the plus side, he seems to have a good grasp of just how serious a threat the Islamic State poses to the United States and much of the free world. The fact that an attack on the U.S. homeland wont occur tomorrow is no excuse for inaction today.
Waiting until an attack is imminent is foolhardy in the extreme. Thats especially true when youre dealing with a relentless foe that has demonstrated an alarming thirst for savagery and a penchant for theatrical murder. When butchers like that send a message, you reply with an emphatically lethal message of your own.

More BS
There is no coalition and if there were a coalition (which there never will be) it should be between people in nearby areas, not people who are 5,000+ miles and an ocean away.
Let them show they are serious about taking out ISIS first ... and then we might consider helping them out ... for some payment.
I’m tired of us going over there ‘helping’ and getting nothing but sh!t in return.
Isn’t Saudi Arabia an Islamic state? Isn’t Iran an Islamic state? How many Islamic states are there?
Round the clock B-52 strikes on any city, town, village, or hovel held by these savages would send a message no one could ignore.
What type of quid pro quo is Bambi going to do in order to entice governments to join?
He’s incapable of negotiating with his own congress and even his own party.
1. Arming the so-called ‘free Syrian army’ is as bad an idea today as it was a year ago. Without knowing what they believe, it is foolish to arm them. They, too, behead their victims.
2. I have no problem with organizing local militarys (Kurds & Iraqis) to be the ground troops while the US is the air arm of that offensive. With the right leadership, that could work. First, we don’t have the right leadership. Obama couldn’t lead Yogi to a picnic basket. Second, even with the right leadership we’re talking a significant amount of time before a counter-offensive can be launched.
3. I’m more and more of the opinion that we simply need to carve out a homeland for the Kurds, and NATO nations should grant refugee status to all Christian Middle Eastern Christians.
This might as well have been printed in the NY Times, what a load.
