Sarah Palin Announces Endorsement of Former Washington Redskin Clint Didier for U.S. Congress

Former Washington Redskins tight end Clint Didier, who is seeking to replace the retiring Congressman Doc Hastings in Washington State’s 4th congressional district, received a powerful endorsement on Thursday.

Didier, a principled constitutional conservative with enthusiastic support from the pro-freedom Tea Party movement, was endorsed by Sarah Palin, who said “Clint sees the dangers facing our next generation,” and will “fight for farmers, for lower taxes, and less government.”

Didier, who won two Super Bowl rings playing for the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl’s XVII and XXII under coach Joe Gibbs, became a farmer after retiring from his NFL career and resides in Eltopia, WA.

Didier faces the unique electoral anomaly of facing off against another Republican in the November general election, after coming out on top of a crowded field in the August primary. Washington State’s “top-two” system allows the top two candidates to advance from the primary to the general, regardless of party affiliation.

Clint Didier For U.S. Congress (WA-4)

Clint Didier has lived an amazing life, and he has never forgotten where he came from or stopped helping others along the way. Born on a farm in Washington state, Clint got his hands dirty and learned the value of hard work early in life. After completing his education, Clint played in the NFL and in three Super Bowls, helping to win two of them. When he retired, he returned to what he knew best by bringing his family back to Washington state and returning to farming. Clint didn’t give up on football either; he’s coached his former high school team and led them to two State Championships. Now, Clint sees the dangers facing our next generation and is stepping up once again to serve our nation. In Congress, Clint will fight for farmers, for lower taxes, and less government. He understands hard work and the concerns of everyday Americans because he’s one of us. We need more citizens like Clint Didier in

Didier is running against GOP establishment-backed former state legislator and director of the Washington state Department of Agriculture, Dan Newhouse.

Great endorsement from Governor Sarah Palin. The real conservative Didier should beat the Karl Rove-endorsed Newhouse.

Somehow I think that if she ever introduced him at a rally, she wouldn’t call him “the former tight end for the team from Washington”.

Thanks for supporting Clint.
He is a good guy.
I have been putting up signs for him and trying to get him to come to the next local gun show.
If you are going to vote for Clint, how about putting up a few signs?

It would have been helpful to explaind this a little more, but we can’t expect that from bias sources.

From Ballotpedia:

Primary: Washington is one of three states to use a blanket primary, or top-two system, which allows all candidates to run and all voters to vote but only moves the top two vote-getters, regardless of party affiliation, to the general election.

Washington’s 4th Congressional District is located in the central portion of the state and includes Okanogan, Douglas, Grant, Adams, Franklin, Benton and Yakima counties,

This ia probably the most conservative area of Washington State. There were 12 candidates in the blanket primary (same as California uses). The top two vote getters were both Republicans, Clint Didier and Dan Newhouse.

So Sarah Palin is endorsing one Republican over another in the general election. There is no danager of a democrat slipping in on this one.

That’s interesting. George Washington would probably be pleased.
