Ain't that nice. Besides, only the "right" people in d.c. can have guns with very few exceptions. So, if d.c. were to become the 51st state, would ehn be one of the senators from there?

Nothing will change after the 2014 elections.
Nothing will change after the 2016 elections.
Nothing will change after the 2018 elections.
Nothing will change after the 2020 elections.

Etc., etc., etc., etc......

Think of all the good things that will come to pass during the upcoming lame duck session.

I’ve always believed that congress should not be permitted to conduct business for that period of time.

Of course I am not surprised, politicians inheritly fear an armed citizenry. Never forget, Washington DC is the only American city under the complete control of the federal government, therefore an armed populace there is a nearer and greater danger to the federal ruling class.

Those elected officials in DC can’t please all of the people all of the time thus the citizens must be disarmed, starting with those citizens in DC

The republicans control the house. And that means squat. The democrats control the senate. And if the republicans gain control it will mean squat.

Gas is too expensive to waste driving to the polls so people like Cornyn can keep getting re-elected.

Yesterday’s victory was an important step in our efforts to protect the District’s right to self-government,” the District’s nonvoting Democratic Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton said in a statement Wednesday, taking credit for the win in knocking off riders to the continuing resolution which not only included Massie’s funding cut for gun control measures but also one forbidding D.C. from spending money on a legal marijuana program.

Tell me how funding gun control with federal money gives DC more freedom to govern themselves?

Federal funding ALWAYS leads to federal intervention in local affairs.

Note the present fight over school lunch menus.

If the feds will meddle is something as personal as what you eat for lunch and what you get from your doctor, nothing is safe and nothing is private.

An event like what happened at the end of Tom Clancy's "Debt of Honor" would be a very good thing.
