The whole thing turned out to be a speech denouncing Israel. This was the first time I had actually met someone espousing Christianity and a hatred for Israel--at least from someone who was from the Middle East.
I argued with him for a while after his "talk", but got nowhere.
Beware of people who claim to follow Jesus but then turn around and declare that the Jews are wicked and must be destroyed. They are not biblical.
A great “Sister Souljah” moment. Rand Paul would’ve been smart to do something similar, but I think, deep down, he probably agrees with the hecklers.
Sounds like they are possibly pseudo Christians. Jesus said not everyone who says to me Lord Lord will enter into the kingdom of God, and you will know them by their fruits. From the outside looking in, that nerd isn't showing good fruit.
From the IDC president on its site at http://www.indefenseofchristians.org/idc/statement-idc-president-following-disruption-idc-gala-dinner/
As Cardinal Rai so eloquently put it to the attendees of the In Defense of Christians inaugural Summit gala dinner: At every wedding, there are a few wedding crashers. In this case, a few politically motivated opportunists chose to divide a room that for more than 48 hours sought unity in opposing the shared threat of genocide, faced not only by our Christian brothers and sisters, but our Jewish brothers and sisters and people of other all other faiths and all people of good will.
Tonights injection of politics when the focus should have been on unity and faith, momentarily played into the hands of a few who do not adhere to IDCs principles. They were made no longer welcome.
When we set out to form In Defense of Christians, many in the foreign policy and faith-based communities said such an effort was impossible. That it would be too difficult to bring such a diverse group of Christian sects, religious and human rights organizations together to draw attention not only to the plight of the deteriorating situation facing our Christians brothers and sisters, but also to the plight of all people of faith, in the Middle East who are suffering...
The human rights’ organizations are prone to despise Israel; some of their members would be on my suspect list.
Bttt
Tip to Cruz: These are the same kind of people that Nelson Mandela was, including his supporters around the world.
>> ...Jews are wicked and must be destroyed... not biblical.
Preach it, brother.
Among other pages, you must tear the entire chapter of Romans 11 completely out of your Bible to hold such false beliefs while claiming to be a disciple of Christ.
Arab Christians are, sadly, still Arabs...one would have thought after them being slaughtered and all (by Muslims) that they would have developed some sense of humanity with their fellow Jews...
Middle Eastern Christians - phew! The few I’ve met are real Jew haters.
I really like Senator Cruz, but is it possible that he was tone-deaf on this one occasion? Too bad he didn’t begin by talking about the Christians of the Middle East who are in fact being driven out after 2,000 years. It is not clear why he would begin by talking about Israel, when the subject at hand is Islamic massacres of Christians and Yazidis and “heretical” Muslims several hundred miles to the east. In other words, everything he says makes sense, but why not talk a little about the reason for the conference (unless of course he was going to eventually) and then broach the subject of how everything over there is interconnected? A transcript would help.
Agree.
This leads into another issue - Christian intolerance of other faiths, such as Mormonism or Buddhism. I note a personal dissonance in Christians over freedom of religion vs. strict scriptural interpretation.
You’re surprised that a Christian hates Jews? You haven’t read much history. I’m a 65 year old Jew, and in my lifetime, I’ve encountered plenty of Christians who hated Jews, mostly not to the point that they would do anything violent, but not always.
About twenty years ago members of my congregation going to synagogue for Saturday morning Sabbath services found a pig head hanging on the door. To the credit of our community, 400 people of all denominations showed up that week for a unity service, and the judge threw the book at the perps.
In the Middle East, it’s compounded by the lack of civilization there, and the fact that Arab Christians are Arabs first. I encountered that when talking to a Lebanese woman right after 9-11. She is Christian, and her brother had been murdered by Palestinians. Yet, she hates Israel.
Is the Defense of Christians a Palestinian ACLU meant to weaken Christian relations with Israel?
I am thankful that Ted Cruz’s pro-Israel stance shone the light of truth on that organization.
TED CRUZ 2016
I have many Christian friends in the Middle East, and this does not surprise me one bit. You have to understand that these people have family in the Middle East, and that’s who colors their views about Jews. These family members are marinated within the same anti-Israel propaganda that Muslims in the Middle East imbibe in.
... the stakes are high in the next couple of elections .... the fate of this country and the entire world are at stake.
.... it will get turbulent.
Seems like a group coopting Christianity.
Thanks for telling them, Ted.

Dhimmis indeed. You cannot appease a dragon, lion or panther. They will devour you.
..Jesus while on earth—Jew. The Apostles—Jews. All the writers of the New Testament except perhaps Luke—Jews. Pathological thinking which denies this cannot be called Christianity. God bless Sen Cruz
My wife and I have a friend who is a “Palestinian Christian” - in name, but not in heart. She is loudly and hatefully against Jews. Wishes death to them all.
