Former congressman Allen West (R., Fla.) is making a statement on the right to bear arms on his right bare arm with a new tattoo. Aces High Tattoo Shop in West Palm Beach, Fla. showed off the former Republican’s ink on its Instagram account over the weekend.

I know several men currently risking their lives for your protection in various military branches. They, like 95% of our military, have tattoos. While tattoos are not my cup of tea I’m not angry about the them, but I’m a little ticked that you think these brave men are classless.
I will certainly agree that the world is a crazy place right now, but we have bigger fish to fry than tattoos. If you don’t realize that, you’re part of the problem.

Tattoos are FOREVER!! Half of my family....the stupid, classless part have tattoos. I listen to NOTHING they have to say...they are FOLLOWERS.

Lots of vets aren’t cultural leaders (or trying to be) as West is. Lots of criminals have tattoos, too. I gave West my support, my time , my money and my vote. Twice. I don’t expect him to be this superficial. I’m a veteran, along with eight other family members. Not a tattoo among us.
