Conservative members of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s coalition put forward a united front at the weekend against recent developments in the city of Wuppertal. Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière said civilians wearing uniforms bearing the logo “Shariah police” could not simply start patrolling German streets.
The groups reportedly hovered around sites like discotheques and gambling houses, telling passers-by to refrain from gambling and alcohol. Wuppertal’s police have begun pressing charges.
“Sharia law is not tolerated on German soil,” de Maizière told mass-circulation daily Bild on Saturday. “Nobody can take it upon themselves to abuse the good name of the German police.”
Justice Minister Heiko Maas, meanwhile, told Bild that “the state alone” was responsible for the administration of justice in Germany. …

I have not been to NYC. But I have a friend who said that a Muslim cab driver refused to drive them because they had booze.

It is normal for immigrants to seek out their own, but what makes these Muslim areas different, is their push to implement Sharia over local law. It starts with the the local mosque of course, but then it becomes enforceable in the block where the mosque is located: no alcohol, no pork products, no dogs, women must be covered, etc. Then the blocks around that block. It can gradually extend to a whole county: Wayne Co., Michigan is an example. Don't expect police protection of any behavior disapproved by the Muslim community, e.g. Chirstian visibility in the public square (street preaching, leafletting, processions with crosses, Christian churches advertising charitable or community events, ringing church bells, etc.) as well as the usual stuff about pigmeat and liquor.
I'm told that in Brooklyn and Queens it is common to see groups of young men sporting full beards and traditional Islamic attire walking to the Hazrat-I-Abubakr Sadiq mosque for daily prayers and harrassing women on the street who wear shorts or sleeveless blouses, people walking dogs, etc.
I haven't seen this myself. Just what I've heard.
I’m sure the EU will STRAIGHTEN OUT Germany with regard to their INTOLERANCE of other cultures, and Germany will buckle, like England, France and much (if not most) of Europe and permit “limited Sharia enforcement”, in order for their ethnic minorities to feel more “respected”.
There are quite a few here in Houston. So far they just give me dirty looks. Of course that may have something to do with my two t-shirts that read:

I’ve had my run in’s in NOVA, especially at the playground of all places.
One decided to stand over me as close as she could and stare while I sat on a bench and watched my GD. She said nothing, but just continued to try to intimidate with this aggressive posture.
I ignored her. I’m not a good subject to try and provoke.
Yes, we have had incidents like that. The drivers have been disciplined although I don’t know the outcome from the Taxi Commission. I’ve just never heard of no-go areas in NYC - anything is possible, of course. Time to google, I guess.
No one on the face of the Earth should ever tolerate Sharia Police!
