Yes. That is why he stopped broadcast from Ukraine onto Russian Federation. Also, shot, Russian border guards shot Russian mercenaries leaving Ukraine. R.F.has a huge propaganda machine. Yet, citizens KNOW! That is why thousands protested in Red Square!

PUTIN is the Machiavelli Prince.
Consider:
1. He should also set up colonies of his own men in the new lands, and should weaken any strong neighboring enemies so that he will have no rival conquerors.
2. The new prince should not only keep an eye on present dangers, but on possible future dangers.
3. It is much easier to rule, when subjects are used to oppression.
4. Republics, are very easy for a new prince to conquer, but almost impossible for him to rule. Once he has gained control over a former republic, Machiavelli implies that he really has no choice but to destroy it entirely and rebuild it.
5. The prince can break promises, commit crimes, and generally behave nastily for political advantage.
6. But the prince should avoid exposure of his bad behavior.
7. The prince should instead cultivate a reputation for “goodness,” even if that reputation is false. In other words, it’s better to look good than to be good.

We may never know the truth about how many Russians have been killed From the Czars, to the Bolsheviks and Communists, and now to the barely different successor Putin, Russian rulers have always lied to their people about their sacrifices. And like dull, stupid slaves, they go along content to do what their master tell them especially if its given a heavy load of chauvinist claptrap.

There've been a few stories about Putin upgrading and modernizing his Armed Forces. One of two things has to be true: 1) Russian regular forces aren't as heavily involved as previously reported. 2) Russian regulars are really getting their asses kicked.

Number two is increasingly appearing more likely.

True.

His ability to keep this on a smaller scale will evaporate.

The Cycle of cataclysmic wars leveling Europe and Asia continues.

The Ukrainians should never forgive the Russians for once again interfering in their country and the cruelties they are again inflicting on these people.

If you remember the Georgia episode...the Russian AF had to really go out and look hard for some decent pilots. No one had enough real training or cockpit time to be respectable....as I remember it. I suspect the Russian army has gone to a marginal basic training episode...no real infantry training, and if you were a sergeant...it just means you got stripes but may not relate to any training or real capability.
