Why are they going for independence? Because they are fed up with England allowing radical Islam to take root? Good enough reason for me.

Could be. Just read an article in the WSJ though that suggests a reason that may be more plausible. It seems that a large portion of Scot’s GDP comes from their scotch whiskey. And, it seems that all the UK chatter about dropping out of the EU has made some Scots nervous. Reason being; if the UK (including Scotland) should vote to leave the EU then as an outsider scot whiskey would be subject to tariffs, taxes, customs regulations, etc, making Scot whiskey more expensive and difficult to sell. What’s that Jerry McQuire quite? “Follow the Money”. :)

Best reason yet.

Now we’ll have to see if an independent Scotland will throw out the bearded barbarians.

Doubtful if the EU would allow that.
