An 82-year-old woman was beheaded in a north London suburban garden by a man with a machete.
Palmira Silva, a widow and grandmother described as “such a sweet lady” by one neighbour, was killed outside her home in Edmonton in a random but frenzied assault by a 25-year-old.
Witnesses said they saw the man, wielding a foot-long blade, attack a passing vehicle and a cat before roaming back gardens looking for a victim.
One line of inquiry for detectives is understood to be that the man was inspired by recent footage of terrorists beheading two American journalists in Syria.
Some residents claimed last night that the suspect was a local man who had converted to Islam last year, but those claims could not be verified. Detectives said they had ruled out terrorism.

Scotland Yard said officers they were unaware of the motivation behind the horrific slaying which comes three days after the publication of an ISIS video that showed a British man beheading an American journalist. An off duty British soldier was killed and suffered an attempted beheading during an attack by Islamists on a London street last year.
“Whilst it is too early to speculate on what the motive behind this attack was, I am confident, based on the information currently available to me, that it is not terrorist related,” said detective chief inspector John Sandlin, who is leading the investigation.

While there are are true cases of mentally ill humans with severe psychosis, mental illness diagnoses are all too often used as an excuse for evil actions when atrocities are committed by people who are very well aware of reality.

This is so terrible. Rule .303 is correct but I would follow up with a couple of B-52’s loaded up with the biggest 1950’s era monster H-Bombs I can find and they’d be on their way to Mecca and Medina.

I for one believe that woman was overcome with TERROR when that pos started his heinous act...just shoot him like the rabid savage that he his.

And how many people were witness to the Lee Rigby murder and had no firearm to shoot the Muslim murderers? If some savages started cutting the head off a soldier in the middle of the street around my parts, there'a a very large chance they'd find themselves ventilated by a few average citizens.
