Oil tanker 'vanishes' with $100M cargo off Texas

The U.S. Coast Guard has lost track of a Kurdish tanker carrying $100 million in disputed oil off the coast of Texas, the Independent reports.

Headed for Galveston, the United Kalavyrvta was anchored at least 60 miles off-shore when it vanished from radar screens. The ship's haul fell under legal dispute when Iraq filed a lawsuit in U.S. courts, urging American officials to grab the ship's oil in Galveston because it belongs to Iraq, not the Kurdish National Government.

Just vanished off radar?

Makes one wonder what else is floating around out there that we're not seeing.......

I doubt anybody was maintaining continuous watch. It doesn’t take long to weigh anchor and get underway and out of radar range.I wonder where she’ll appear next?

Great, buying oil from ISIS. I guarantee that it’s going to ISIS. Obama’s whole reason for bombing ISIS is so he can get Bashar al-Assad, once he flips Syria for unchecked islam, ISIS will have even more power, influence, and civilians to torture. Don’t believe me? Just watch and wait. We’ll have to go into Syria to take out ISIS. But Obama will use that as a front to depose Assad, supporting ISIS. Bombing alone will not get rid of ISIS. It’s all a front. Obama has wonderful cover. Incompetence. He IS INCOMPETENT. But, I’m afraid his handlers aren’t.

ISIS used to be Al’Qaeda, who used to be the Mujahideen. We’re going to pay for Obama, liberalism, all the queer marriage, and all the abortions we have allowed to happen. I’m afraid that I’m guilty of inaction. But if I don’t tolerate homosexuals, abortionists, and queer sympathizers I will lose my job, and my livelihood. So I’m forced to keep my mouth shut, because they will not tolerate me. Hypocrites and morons all of them. I hate this bullshit. We’re not free. We are shackled by evil, under the guise of tolerance and hateful political correctness. I cannot wait for the day that all the evil around me is destroyed.

I will celebrate. To truly be free like my Grandfather, and his were when they were kids, what it must have been like. He is the most righteous, decent man I have ever known. But even he has been forced to tolerate these hypocrites for much of his life or lose the few freedoms he has left.

I heard they found it.

It is in the same place it was when it disappeared.

It had turned off it’s transponder so they didn’t know where it went, now it’s back on.

Somebody probably got themselves a real good deal on 1 million barrels of oil.

Actually it is still loaded. Here’s from DailyMail:

An Iraqi oil tanker that disappeared from radar off the coast of Texas last week has suddenly reappeared today - and it’s still full of $100million in crude.

The United Kalavrvta is at the center of a legal and political battle over Iraq’s oil wealth between the Kurdish region in the north of the country and the central government in Baghdad.

The tanker vanished from U.S. Coast Guard tracking systems on Thursday and is believed to have shut off its transponder.

The ship, which has 1million barrels of crude oil aboard, reappeared on radar on Monday - in almost exactly the same spot where it was when it vanished.

It’s currently in the Galveston Offshore Lightering Area, where large ships that can’t fit in the Port of Galveston wait to be unloaded.

No, the Kurds are fighting ISIS. This oil belongs to the enemy of ISIS.

Several years ago I was on a flight from Corpus Christi to Houston. Severe weather diverted the flight a good distance offshore from Galveston and I saw many ships at anchor and wondered what the heck is that?

Now I know......thanks.

Your grandfather sounds like a wonderful man. I lost my grandfather when I was young. Union thugs beat him so bad he never said more than a few words after that; brain damage. He had 10 kids to feed and kept working when they called another strike. No one would ID the guys who did it, but God knows. Don’t lose hope.

Psalm 37

1 Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.

3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.

7 Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.
9 For those who are evil will be destroyed,y
but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look for them, they will not be found.
11 But the meek will inherit the land
and enjoy peace and prosperity.

12 The wicked plot against the righteous
and gnash their teeth at them;
13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he knows their day is coming.

14 The wicked draw the sword
and bend the bow
to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose ways are upright.
15 But their swords will pierce their own hearts,
and their bows will be broken.

16 Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;
17 for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous.

18 The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care,
and their inheritance will endure forever.
19 In times of disaster they will not wither;
in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.
20 But the wicked will perish:
Though the Lord’s enemies are like the flowers of the field,
they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke.

21 The wicked borrow and do not repay,
but the righteous give generously;
22 those the Lord blesses will inherit the land,
but those he curses will be destroyed.
23 The Lord makes firm the steps
of the one who delights in him;
24 though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

25 I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.
26 They are always generous and lend freely;
their children will be a blessing.[b]

27 Turn from evil and do good;
then you will dwell in the land forever.
28 For the Lord loves the just
and will not forsake his faithful ones.
Wrongdoers will be completely destroyed[c];
the offspring of the wicked will perish.

29 The righteous will inherit the land
and dwell in it forever.
30 The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom,
and their tongues speak what is just.
31 The law of their God is in their hearts;
their feet do not slip.

32 The wicked lie in wait for the righteous,
intent on putting them to death;
33 but the Lord will not leave them in the power of the wicked
or let them be condemned when brought to trial.
34 Hope in the Lord
and keep his way.
He will exalt you to inherit the land;
when the wicked are destroyed, you will see it.

35 I have seen a wicked and ruthless man
flourishing like a luxuriant native tree,
36 but he soon passed away and was no more;
though I looked for him, he could not be found.
37 Consider the blameless, observe the upright;
a future awaits those who seek peace.[d]
38 But all sinners will be destroyed;
there will be no future[e] for the wicked.

39 The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
40 The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

Remember the days when a ship would leave one port, and no one really knew where they were every second until they showed up on the other side of the world? It really wasn’t that long ago.

Kurdish ‘ghost’ oil tanker reemerges near Texas – with $100mn cargo
http://rt.com/usa/184264-usa-kurdish-tanker-oil/
September 01, 2014

A “ghost ship” oil tanker carrying approximately $100 million of disputed Iraqi Kurdish crude oil has reappeared on satellite imagery near the US coast Monday, after disappearing for several days. The tanker seems not to have offloaded its oil.

According to the US Coast Guard and Reuters, the tanker, United Kalavrvta, is still 95 percent full and has not yet unloaded its cargo. The vessel was anchored Monday in the Galveston Offshore Lightering Area, close to its previously known position.

The Iraqi government has deemed this shipment of Kurdish crude oil illegal. Baghdad filed a lawsuit in the US in June, preventing any purchaser from unloading the Kurdish shipment.

When Iraq’s government initially filed the law suit, US District Judge Nancy K. Johnson ordered the seizure of the tanker’s $100 million payload, but only if the tanker entered the territorial waters of the US.

This isn’t the first time Kurdish oil tankers have switched off their electronic transponders to avoid detection – essentially making their movements impossible to track.

Approximately a week ago, a Kurdish tanker carrying crude disappeared from satellite tracking north of Egypt’s Sinai, only to reappear empty two days later near Israel.

Perhaps. Although, other possibilities, could narrow the margin of likelihood.

"It had turned off it’s transponder so they didn’t know where it went, now it’s back on."

Isn't there a surface radar system that would have picked them up?

Don’t misunderstand my scripture quote to mean we should not fight against our enemies. The people in the scripture were completely helpless for fight for themselves. There are ways to fight with the rights we have. I pray we don’t end up fighting for our lives.
