I would GUESS that of all the Mexican farm workers (braceros) down there in California's central valley, HALF are legal and HALF are illegals.

Taking the average here in south Georgia, I would say 50/50 is about right.
Some big operations are all legals with visas and work permits. Others aren’t so much that way.
I used to provide software for ag accounting and payroll systems way back in my younger days. We used to require documents and social security numbers for adding new employees and thought we were doing a great job. Found out later they could buy counterfeit documents on the black market for peanuts.
I would wager that 90% of them are illegal (expired visas, or never had one). But that would be me.
