Reports that Russian troops are intervening directly in the fighting in south-east Ukraine have started to appear in Russian media, despite repeated denials from the Kremlin.
Newspapers and websites are quoting mainly Ukrainian and Western media reports about a Russian invasion, but some have also started to ask whether Moscow is now "fighting a war".
Many Russian social media users, however, say they have no doubt that Ukraine has been "attacked".
They echo sentiments in the Ukrainian twitter-sphere where #russiainvadesukraine, #StopPutin, and #UkraineUnderAttack have become the top trending hashtags.

Sanctions and more sanctions, economic ruin in Russia and dead Russian bodies piling up .... guerrilla war and ethnic cleansing.... World War! Iran will make it’s play soon.
Russia will end this—and end it quick. Ukraine will be forced to sign a new treaty with Putin—who will lead a victory parade in Moscow. Land for Peace—or we could call it a Piece Treaty—Russia gets a piece of Eastern Ukraine—The “Civil War” stops and maybe things will go back to normal—or what passes for normal in that part of the world. Maybe—when this is done with we can meet with Putin and work out a plan to rip the Islamic State to pieces. Glad to see the Russian Press talking about this—there is a bit of freedom left in Russia after all.
