Free Vulcan opus’d out this morning by FReepmail. Says FR serves no useful purpose anymore in the conservative universe except for those that want to sound important and grouse, but never lift a finger to do anything about it. He refuses to donate to people that think they are entitled to it and give nothing in return and he can find 100 other “news aggregators” on the web. He’s going to move on and concentrate on working within the GOP

News aggregators? is that what we are? Work for the GOP?
Good luck with that.

Also says we are no longer activists. Now I admit we’ve had a long dry spell since we last impeached a president or helped get another elected or got a major news anchor fired, but that doesn’t mean we’ve given up on activism. FReepers represent all that is good in America and we’re fighting daily on many fronts. No way do we surrender or give up the fight. If ever there was need for an impeachment it is now. The only thing standing in the way IS the GOP. Boehner in particular. When we decided to impeach Clinton, Gingrich was right there to move it along.

Lastly he says FR can’t bring in enough donations to pay the bills so he says we’re going under anyway. Well, I don’t know about that. The FReepers always come through for FR!!

Good luck and God bless.

He seemed like a very angry person but didn't use the anger constructively. I didn't see him rallying anyone for doing any activism. Did he try to get other FReepers to picket anything? Anywhere?

As for making FR's budget, we always do despite Obama and the economy.

I think he was a glass half empty kinda guy.

Excellent, Jim. It seems to be past time for Free Vulcan to take his comments to another site.

His comments are not appreciated on this site!

Considering his accusations against FR in this thread and his BS claims, I’m sure a bright future in the news media awaits him.

Maybe he can blog about it.

We don't need a malcontent with a bad attitude spreading his poison here. Good riddance.

As far as activists are concerned, many of us here either belong to, are involved with or participate in TEA Party activities. Some appear on TV and are heard on the radio.

Here's another excellent example of activism.

FReepers, Let's go!
Everyone needs to donate!

All contributions are for the current quarter expenses.

When people get cranky at Free Republic it is not FR that they’re angry at, they just take it out on things that won’t make their life any worse. You can pretty much just feel sorry for him.

It was just a few weeks ago that a team of FReeper Patriots protected Texas from the swarm of criminal invaders. Since your stand on the Rio Grande, the flow of invaders has slowed to a trickle. I'd call that real activism with quantifiable results.

Thanks for the update on Free Vulcan. I always enjoy a good battle, and feel cheated that we did not get to finish ours - - - (sigh).

FReepers represent all that is good in America and we’re fighting daily on many fronts.

FReepers, from the ever amazing DC Chapter, brought cheer and support to our Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed EVERY week for over SIX YEARS! Ditto the Olney FReepers! We can't all be a Doctor Raoul (although Hillary would never show her face again if there were a thousand of him.) but we can do a bit for the cause everyday in many ways.

It takes longer but we still get the FReepathon DONE, because there are enough FReepers who believe is FreeRepublic, donating their cash and time (that wonderful team is a treasure).

It's easy to be negative... In 1997 if you told someone.... ANYONE... that a conservative forum that was funded solely by voluntary donations from it's members would still be truckin' along in 2014, they would have called you crazy.

Thanks for the vision and determination Jim.

Precisely so ... no surrender, no retreat.

I truly am sorry to see Free Vulcan go. But, FV must have his reasons. I really don’t like to see anyone leave, but it happens. As a pastor, we’re told to expect 10% turnover a year for one reason or another. We could go nuts trying to persuade the unpersuadable.

Best to drive on, respect those who helped build and then were called elsewhere. Lamenting the loss or being embittered by the departure is wasted energy for the most part.

Better to look for ways to grow and be helpful in the future.

Dang.

Just this year alone I've been on an overpass, at the Mexican consulate and at the border.. activistin'.

Hard to please some folks I guess.

Too bad he won't be around to enjoy the premier annual 2nd amendment "activism that activisn't" in October.

” The FReepers always come through for FR!!”

I don’t have much but FR will always get some of it.

I have learned so much and frequently been annoyed, but I feel at home here.
