President Obama received a tepid response from veterans as he voiced his foreign policy ideals during a speech at the American Legion’s 96th national convention in North Carolina. Staring blankly at his teleprompter, Obama recited his speech, pausing for applause that never came.

I watched only when Obama walked on stage. One had to strain to hear any applause at all. Nobody in that building, except Obama, believed what he was saying.
They were being politely silent, because they have class, and respect for the office.
Imagine a Ted Cruz speaking before the NAACP or La Raza. It would be a riot of screaming and throwing trash at him.

I saw about 5 minutes of that yesterday and I could not believe that some were clapping.
He mentioned how he;s invested money into the VA and how he is helping vets , and there were people clapping.
Either these people have lost it, or they have no idea about what is going on,
did you notice how he paused a few times waiting for the applause?
I saw that. The silence from the audience was deafening. He spouted off about how good the economy was and what he has done to improve job opportunities etc. since the recession and waited for an applause that never came. This will probably be the last audience he will speak to that isn’t stacked in his favor.

They may have done it just to make Obama feel good, but once he left, you can imagine the stuff being talked about him behind his back, get my drift?

I see a car in my neighborhood with a “Veterans for Obama” bumper sticker. I am on the watch to find the guy an ask him to explain himself.

Any applause is more than he deserves. If they really are applauding out of respect for the office, that is misconstrued by the bumblerOTUS and the press as applause for the bumbler.
He learned that back in Public Speaking and Teleprompter class. it is an automatic gesture.

At times he seemed annoyed because he was not getting the attention he so desperately wants
I read somewhere yesterday that he had a little fan club of about 10 people on the front row that kept clapping.
