The FDA's New Food Regulations Are A Recipe For High Food Prices
Forbes ^ | 8/22/14 | Julie Gunlock

Food prices continue to go up and consumers are feeling the pinch. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the price of food has spiked to its highest rate since September 2011. Consumers are now paying more for such staples as ground beef, chicken and turkey, eggs, bacon, citrus fruit, coffee, peanut butter, and margarine. Normally, politicians would try to alleviate this financial strain on American families. Yet, this administration seems to want to make food more expensive.

I see my bell pepper plants as money trees. Each pepper is a shiny new dollar bill. Same with our watermelons, cabbage, beans, tomatoes and all the other garden stuff.

And then there are the 11 eggs our hens lay every day. They are technological wonders. They turn ticks and other bugs into eggs. Don’t ask me how they do it, and they aren’t talking, but it explains their smug look.

Yeah, so what? It’s obviously not bothering anyone enough to change how they vote. I don’t know what it takes to wake people up, but it certainly isn’t high prices.

The government want to control the people, what better way than to control the food supply.
I'm just waiting for the "Affordable Food Safety Act", or whatever they will call it, that will do to the food industry what 0bamacare did to health care.

” Now what? Should restaurant owners simply place a big-gulp sized salt shaker on each table with a placard that reads “please add more salt, you’ll need it!”

I’d be willing to bet that Moochelle is working on a way to force restaurants to remove salt shakers from the tables, perhaps sugar and butter too.

Just like they did to the fast-food burger doodle places. You no longer can expect a package of salt in the bag to put on the fries, you have to ask for it.

The sooner that fat-a$$ed food Nazi chokes on a pork-chop bone, the better the world will be.

“It’s obviously not bothering anyone enough to change how they vote.”

This is all about changing how people vote. The impetus behind regulating food prices into the stratosphere is to force more Americans onto Food Stamp and other government programs where they will be compliant Progressive voters. This is also why farmers markets and small farms are facing absurd regulatory scrutiny.

The same thing is true of Obamacare - they use regulations to force massive increases in the cost of health insurance, and then provide subsidies, as long as you don’t let those evil conservatives win any elections.

Same here, Fall gardens are being prepped and planted.

When people don’t have any money left to spend on their “wants” after spending all their money on their “needs”, the economy is going in the tank.

Sad state of affairs that people go that route when they don’t have to. Hard to see a good result for the country.

I believe the greatest damage Obama has done to this country is the vast increase in the scope and power of the Leftist bureaucracy under his administration.

The EPA, IRS, OSHA and all the others are now nothing less than a hidden dictatorship.

Even if we can get conservatives into Congress and the White House it will take years to get these people out of power.

Higher prices for food push more people to food stamps. More people on food stamps pushes more people to vote Democrat so they can get even more food stamps.

Once the economy becomes so burdened with free stuff from the government it will collapse, that is what Obama and his friends are pushing for, then they can truly remake the government of the US into a true Socialist state.

This runs parallel with jacking up energy prices.

The “elites” don’t want us using THEIR resources or eating THEIR food.

You're right. The only way is cleaning out the infestation from top to bottom. If you look at how W came in, you see exactly how not to do it. He went for continuity and comity, up to and including having Ted Kennedy (D-Kremlin) over for a movie during the passage of No Child Left Behind. Kennedy and the other RATS repaid Bush by blaming him for everything that went wrong with NCLB.

An incoming Republican President needs to follow the lead of Clinton and Obama by firing every US Attorney and working his way from there. Of course, Rove and the other squishy RINOs would be apoplectic at the mere hint.
