There’s a bit in a Laurel and Hardy movie that involves a tommy gun. No chimp, just L&H.

Yes the Roller delay takes a ton of recoil out, but HKs Bolt mechanism is massive.

Who in their right mind would allow a 9 year old to fire a submachine gun?

This made national news heard it while Levin’s show. Who gives a loaded anything to a 9 year old kid ? Probably thought not strong enough to pull trigger..SURPRIZE... SURPRIZE...

The firearms “instructor” screwed up and paid for it with his life. Sad all the way around.

Silliness aside, what a terrible memory for that little girl. She’s going to need serious help working her way through that.

This type of thing has happened before except the kid shot himself in the head. Not a good idea.

My brother and I have trained many people in to safely handle their firearm and shoot accurately.

We NEVER stand next to someone.

We stand behind them.

If we have to stop them, we tap their right shoulder and hold our hand on the bicep and tricep until they put the firearm down.

From there any instruction given is from directly behind or if they need to observe, they are instructed to take their place directly behind to observe what we are demonstrating.

The most important care in firearm ownership is safety and that goes for instructing.

Funny,I own one-the bolt in the MP5 is Light weight.A HK91/G3 bolt has some weight to it,but its not any heavier than an Uzi bolt.

Yea I’m all for teaching kids how to safely use guns.
But a full auto sub machine gun is a bad idea.
Very sad for this guy.
I hope this poor girl gets help from the trauma and her parents don’t let the left use her for more gun control.

Well I have never shot a MP5 I assumed it used the traditional HK bolt design used in the G3

Same thing happen in Westfield, MA several years ago. There was a gun show where you could rent a machine gun to shoot pumpkins. I think the kid was ten.

Lots of lawsuits and trials.

Trust me,I've owned my MP5 for 22 years. In that time I've fired 130K rounds through it.Only maintenance was one barrel and 2 extractor springs. The bolt system is the same basic one used in the G3,just scaled down quite a bit.

I’m getting my kids started using the same Ruger 10/22 I got for my 12th birthday.
I have drilled the basics of gun safety into them since very early.
We love our guns, but we respect them too.

Side note. My 10 year old daughter (last year) told her teacher that adults need guns at school to protect the kids.
The teacher said guns were too dangerous fir school.
My daughter said “sorry but duh, if guns weren’t dangerous my dad wouldn’t spend so much money on them- what good is a gun that’s not dangerous?”
My kids are home schooled now.
