Not in the UK. The standard outlet is 13 Amps at 240 volts, which is 3120 watts.

At the moment, their hair dryers are much better than the US, but I bet those will be next on the EU hit list...:^)

That’s right. They do have higher voltage @ 50z on the other side of the pond.

This is industrial grade stupidity.

I bet it's to combat so-called AGW.

What the bureaucrats in charge of the EU regulation fail to consider, is that people will just run their 900 W machines much, much longer to obtain the same level of cleanliness, thereby undoing the supposed good of restricting the power consumption...

Well heck, they all look like the comic book Transformers, might as well try registering "modifiable multi wheeled mobile toy with Turbine sound effects". Show them horizotal drawing adding a tail dragger wheel and voila. Don't mention the suck factor though.
