ISIS demanded $132 million in ransom from James Foley's family, employer

Before Islamic extremists brutally beheaded an American journalist on camera, they demanded $132 million in ransom from his family and his employer.

Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists began sending messages to James Foley's family and the GlobalPost last fall, Philip Balboni, the news agency's head, told CNN.

At first the messages made political and financial demands.

"The captors never messaged a lot. There was a very limited number with a very specific purpose," he said. Then, last week, the fighters sent an email saying Foley would be killed.

"The message was vitriolic and filled with rage against the United States. It was deadly serious," Balboni said. Foley freelanced for GlobalPost, a Boston-based international news agency, before he was kidnapped in Syria in 2012.

The same terrorists also demanded at least $100 million from the United States government in exchange for Foley's release, the New York Times reported.

It's unclear if the requested $132 million from the family or the $100 million from the U.S. would have satisfied the terrorists' demands.

Sticking to its longstanding policy of refusing to negotiate with terrorists, the U.S. declined to funnel the funds.

We all know they would have killed him either way. Never bargain with terrosrist’s. Just kill them and believe nothing coming out of their mouths.

And they would have still treated him as they have those Christians they made convert to Islam under death threats.

Islamonazis gonna hate.

I was shocked to see David Hunt on FOX this morning saying we should negotiate with these animals.

When, A U.S. President is a Sunni/Muslim Brotherhood IS Member, bad stuff happens in the Middle East and around the world.

Now, we have an excellent insight into cui bono, or who benefits from all of the past lies and bs about what has happened and is happening in Arab/Islamo lands.

This should be read by any us with questions about what has happened and is happening in the Arab lands.

Obama knew. Obama knew and did nothing because he is IS.

The Foley family is under 24 hour protection - no matter where they travel. ISIS has threatened the entire family.

Valerie Jarrett felt she had to leak the details of her failed raid yesterday to cover her a** after the gruesome execution video was released by ISIS. The former generals and John Bolton were furious on Fox News, because now ISIS will probably speed up the murders of the remaining two hostages they hold.

Valerie Jarrett didn’t think of that. Her only concern is the Post Turtles’ political poll ratings. His main concern is who he can get to play golf with him for the rest of his vacation.

It was shocking to me as well. Hunt has always been solidly opposed to negotiating with these animals. Now he seems to think we should haggle over price as long as we don’t give them terrorists in return.

what a laugh “longstanding policy not to negotiate with terrorists” snort. Yeah, uh hunh that’s why we traded some of the worst demons for deserter Bergdahl.

We will probably find out Obama/Jarrett decided to pay the ransom.

Oh..My..God. After releasing 5 high value, Gitmo detainees for a deserter.

I am not saying we should have paid the ransom. I am saying it is repugnant and beyond my comprehension that the US would use it as an excuse.

If Valerie Jarrett deliberately exposed a secret national security mission she should be thrown in jail for it.

What was it they wanted to arrest Snowden over? What Jarrett has done is a million times worse than anything Snowden’s done. Arrest her. Right now.

I think this was an excellent bartar possibility. I figure when you include development costs, production costs, storage costs, delivery costs, and disassembly costs, anyone of our oldest H weapons would approximate $132MM.

So, I would have told them the exchange is on the way, look up for the parachute.

The ransom demand would give them an excuse to further fund these animals.

What I’d like to know is how those texted messages to the family failed to give at least a ballpark location for where they were holding him, with all the spy capabilities we have that are being used against US citizens.
