The police were and are right in this case. The critics are commies and losers. Every freaking one of them.

It’s a matter of what type of police presence you want. And that you should be careful what you wish for.

Looters should be shot on site. Do that nice all looting will stop.

For rioters, a nightstick to the head should suffice.

For peaceful protesters, stand to the side and let them execute their first amendment rights.

good formula

I don’t know about subjective. But in light of a hoard of lawless, maniacal savages bent on looting and the destruction of private and public property, I thinks it’s reasonable that a community’s police force have the resources necessary to gain the upper hand. I just don’t see the problem under these circumstances. Under other circumstances, perhaps a debate on the subject is needed.

These are clearly unusual circumstances, calling for an unusual response. That’s what the National Guard is for. It should only rarely be used. And even then, you run the same risk. My point is that a heavily armed regular police force will want to use it’s toys regularly. That’s the danger I see.

It’s not subjected.

henkster makes no sense. He either doesn’t know the flaws in his logic, and probably never will, or he is well aware and just a propagandist.

Of course it is. However, so is using the National Guard or calling in any government force. It is the left who is whipping up this chaos and it will be the left who will use the police and military against citizens standing against their tyrannical objectives.

The problem I have are these conservatives or libertarians that seemingly side with the rioters and claiming "they are us and we are them" like children of Hamelin following a leftist Pied Piper.

The subject of a militarized police force is a concern and worthy of debate. But, not in this case for the reasons I stated previously.

If a reasonable person thinks this through, it should be rather black and white. I don’t know why it needs to be muddied beyond what the left is already doing. John Stossel has it so wrong in this. It is crap like this that causes me to wonder just how crazy or stupid people are.

I have some concerns about militarization. But I have far more concerns with what people do than I do with the tools they use.

Like I said in a previous post-- is it the guns fault when a person murders someone, or is it the person using it???

That wasn’t city police. It was the feds illegally trampling on a man’s rights. The police in Ferguson are doing their job. Or trying to. Looks like the feds are getting ready to unconstitutionally intervene.

Remember that when they start whompin’ up on the next Cliven Bundy.

There were no rioters no looters, no arsonists at the bundy ranch stand off. only people concerned about an unnaccoutable government agency changing long established rules in a scheme to take away a man's livelihood and property.

you're comparing apples and doorknobs.

Ferguson events have shown Libertarians that it is always more likely people will work together to pillage than work together to improve their lives.

But, except for this idiot apparently, most already were aware of that. Events showed, also, that strict limits on police perversely require they have much ‘firepower’; and light limits allow them to function with less.

There’s a backstory here with lots of flaming involved. But we agreed to a truce. I’ll say no more....

“It’s a matter of what type of police presence you want. And that you should be careful what you wish for.”

If you have a bunch of commies and racist black pampers who want to kill my family, and a gang of thugs who want to destroy and steal my property, I want a professional,well-equipped, highly trained police force between me and that murderous mob.

That’s not hard to understand.
