the inspired word of God describes the killing of the innocents and the subsequent flight into Egypt to save the life of the King of The Jews The Massacre of the Innocents was prophesied in Jeremiah 31:15; however, the Innocents were not massacred to save our Lord, they were massacred because Herod wanted to kill our Lord. The Holy Innocents have traditionally been seen as the first Christian martyrs; however, their martyrdom does not imply that God condoned it.
