Missouri's governor ordered the National Guard onto the streets of Ferguson early Monday after another night of violence following the shooting by police of an unarmed black teen. "Tonight, a day of hope, prayers, and peaceful protests was marred by the violent criminal acts of an organized and growing number of individuals, many from outside the community and state, whose actions are putting the residents and businesses of Ferguson at risk," Gov. Jay Nixon said in a statement. "Given these deliberate, coordinated and intensifying violent attacks on lives and property in Ferguson, I am directing the highly capable men and women of the Missouri National Guard to assist Colonel Ron Replogle and the Unified Command in restoring peace and order to this community.”

Maybe have the guard backing up the police. If they are not careful, they are going to get another bro shot and then all hell is going to break loose all over the US.
Or, worse, some completely innocent young guard gal will get shot and killed.( Then EVERYBODY’s pissed not just the brothers!
Next thing you know we’re talking armed to the teeth Marines like happened in LA. And, lots of bodies!

The republicans are scared to death. That’s why you don’t hear them saying a word. They should do some pandering with Sharpton. They can’t do anything more to piss off their base than they’ve already done.
The mob mentality of a certain segment of our society will never act with civility. Given the Sharptons and Jacksons of society, and the engrained self-oppression of a portion of the black community, this crap will happen over and over again.

The ones posted in Longmont last year after the major floods here were all children; even the sargents were only very early 20’s. They struck me as fairly naive, uneducated, uncertain, untrained, and slightly fearful as well.
The other thing I realized is that they were NOT local, but were from cities far away. I realized that this was on purpose so that they would be less reluctant to shoot or mistreat the locals, since they would view the locals as villagers who were not the same kind of people at all as their own villagers.
Quite frankly, they scared the beejezus out of me every time I had to go through one of their checkpoints.
Can see calm being restored in this manner. National Guard wears the uniforms, Police plain clothes. National Guard disperses crowd, plain clothes Police (maybe light weight black jacket with Police on back) handle looters. There is a pattern. If was on the ground would take advantage of the pattern.

of course ... patterns do change and would be ready with B, C and D if force to modify tactics. Plan A is always the first failure.
