By Christopher Hope, 16 Aug 2014 The West is embroiled in a generational struggle against a poisonous brand of Islamic extremism that will bring terror to the streets of Britain unless urgent action is taken to defeat it, David Cameron warns today.

Writing in The Sunday Telegraph, the Prime Minister says the world cannot turn a blind eye to the creation of an extremist caliphate in the heart of Iraq. Warning that Islamic State fighters already control thousands of square miles of territory, Mr Cameron says that if these “warped and barbaric” extremists are not dealt with now, they will create a “terrorist state” on the shores of the Mediterranean.

He warns that Britain will have to use its “military prowess” to help defeat “this exceptionally dangerous” movement, or else terrorists with “murderous intent” will target people in Britain.

I think Winston Churchill said about the same thing. It would appear to me, that with a few notable exceptions, the world HAS turned a blind eye to it. Altogether too much PC. I think people would rather see the world blow up, than be called Islamophobic.

Back in 1991 i recorded a tv documentary about Nostradamus & his predictions. It was the 2nd part, a follow up. First one in mid 1980s. Absolutely fascinating. Only remembered the recording a few days ago. Lots was said about Islamic threat replacing Soviet Union. Also said the West won’t pay much attention ‘til it comes to their neigbourhood. I never have been a ‘believer’ in Nostradamus & so on & never took them seriously. But got to admit after watching that recorded vid from 1991 found it extremely thought provoking & realistic in the context of recent yrs & more current situation. Cameron has just woken up, it seems.

That's part of the sickness of western civilization today. The very idea that as a society we might fear being thought of as insensitive to our mortal enemies can't be seen in any other light.

That's part of the sickness of western civilization today.

I just wonder if it is a sickness into death? Maybe Cameron has awakened, but how many others have? The American people woke up after 9/11, but soon it was back to MTV and their tablets. Sorry to say, but I think when the US is attacked with nuclear weapons, the survivors will soon go back to sleep. Notice I said when, not if. I am firmly convinced if is coming.
