I saw a couple reports here on FR (maybe a week or two ago; sorry, I can’t source a link at this time) that the dam was actually still getting some needed maintenance conducted in lieu of ISIS taking control (continuing maintenance, not ISIS initiated maint).
I wonder if ISIS thinks it will lose control if they don’t blow that damn thing. It is a win/win for them based on their current behavior and I am quite certain they wouldn’t see a loss in creating more chaos.

So why wouldn’t ISIS sabotage the dam if they thought they were about to lose control of it? Thus, Bath House would be an accomplice to the death and destruction which would follow takedown of the dam. Fitting.
