A 44-year-old Muslim convert says it was news to him that the flag he hung outside his house is the same banner waved by the murderous jihadist group known as Islamic State.
Neighbors and passersby who took to Twitter were alarmed at the black flag emblazoned with the Arabic words The only god is Allah flying from above the porch of Mark Dunaway, in Garwood, N.J. The chilling banner flew next to a red flag of Islam, but Dunaway said he never intended to show support for the terrorist group infamous for beheading Christians.
I hang it every Friday and every Ramadan which ended not too long ago and I keep it up a little longer than I normally do, Dunaway told FoxNews.com. I guess some people saw it and got offended so I took it down. I do not support any militant group or anything like that.

He probably converted because he was told Islam was a religion of peace.
It is plausible that he simply thought this flag was merely representing the nation of Islam.
“Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.”
This guy doesn’t strike me as the sharpest scimitar in the mosque.
I wonder what his stance is on Jews being turned into apes and pigs per the Koran, in Surah 5:60?
Feign disorder and crush (your enemy). The Art Of War, I:20With that religion, I always have to presume malice.
The title is awesome but I think you’d better look for a new cat!
> With that religion, I always have to presume malice.
I understand the sentiment, but all those generations of 1st cousin marriages...
Either you posted to wrong thread, or you have thoroughly whooshed me.
Oh, the song! Never mind!
This fellow’s a convert, remember. That ups the malice factor, what with the move being a rejection of the Judeo-Christian tradition.
Understood, but again I’m not sure - IMO, if he was really trying to exploit the situation he’d run to the ACLU and start suing his accusers, both for the money and to intimidate people from complaining in the future. I really think that he’s just a ROPer with a room-temperature IQ.
The milquetoast reaction could also be a sympathy ploy in and of itself. “Looka peaceful Muslim!”
The real litmus test would be to challenge him on the Koran’s Sura 5:60the infamous “apes and pigs” verse. He has been into the “religion of peace” for a decade now, so it would be a bit disingenuous to feign ignorance here.
I’ll admit, I’d like to hear his answer to that question.
Taqqiyah? I wonder where he got it then. I can’t imagine you can walk into your local Army-Navy store and pick one up.
I thought that might discombobulate you for a bit. Lots of fun. ;-)
Deport every last one of em Yesterday!
That seems reasonable. He probably heard W extolling the peaceful nature of Islam.
