I have a better idea. How about a tax credit coupon handed out with every ballot?

Sick, sick bass turds. Give away more freebies to get the freeloaders to vote. No wonder our government is so !@#$%! up and out of control. Handing out freebies is not the way the government is supposed to work! Damn communists!

This is beyond stupid. A prize will not motivate lazy people to study the issues, only to go into the booth and vote ignorantly. It’s bad enough as it is!

LA's Ethics Commission votes to urge the City Council to look at using cash prizes to get more people to vote.

Ethics? WE don’t need no stinking ethics.

How is this plan ethical?

If people don’t care enough about their government to vote without incentives like prizes perhaps they shouldn’t be voting anyway.

I have always been of the opinion that you shouldn’t have to pay people to do the right thing. But maybe that is why I am a conservative and these people are Liberals.

Undermines the essence of American democracy and I think could be found to be un-Constitutional with a little study.

Illegal is this not? Electioneering even by government bribe is still a crime.
