Thousands of people gathered in more than 100 U.S. communities Thursday in remembrance of Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager whom police shot to death last weekend in Ferguson, Missouri.
The centerpiece of the observations — being held at such historic places as New York's Union Square, Boston Common and St. Louis' Gateway Arch — was a simultaneous national moment of silence at 7:20 p.m. ET.
"We want to stand in an effort of love and support and organize community support for how we can mobilize our anger and our upset and our disappointment," said Renee Chapman, an organizer of the vigil at Marshall Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In Iowa City, Iowa, where several dozen people gathered at the Center for Worker Justice, Alecia Brooks of the Coalition for Racial Justice told NBC station KWWL: "Someone can get stopped by police and then from that they can be dead. I think it's concerning everywhere, and it should be an issue in Iowa City, as well."(continued)

The Dems need this to get their base wound up. They have nothing to run on and the base is bored right now.
Nothing like playing the black guy was killed for nothing by cops to get their most loyal base out to vote.

What worries me is the fact that they’re getting better at it.

Police chief says “it’s a powder keg out there”........................yes sir, we saw one of those powder kegs come near blowing up out at the Bundy Ranch.
“It’s a powder keg out there” is probably an understatement, but not from the so called “black community”.
As for the Ferguson Police, apparently judging from the looting going on, their feather pillow approach to rioters, arsonists, and opportunists ain’t working so good!
I have come to hate the left and their media lapdogs for consistently mis characterizing these sorts of events and using words in their so called “reporting” that do nothing but egg the situation on by establishing an aura of “right” around the criminal, thug, opportunistic, rioters which they in turn take as license to go ransack and burn another store.
Nor has he once, not once, addressed the knock out game being played by his “sons”.
I wonder if in other cities they pronounce it ‘vigil’ or ‘vidjual’ (as they do in St. Louis) ?
Obama never made a peep about Steve Utash being nearly beaten to death in Detroit.
I wouldn’t “protest” over this incident. But I would protest the cops being out of control in general.
If there is looting going on, and I don’t doubt it, then the cops need to be video taping it. Including the shooting of the looters.
I’d like to hear about the prosecution of those responsible for burning the Quik Trip to the ground, as well as other businesses destroyed by these “primitive primates.” The Great OZ has spoken.
