Netanyahu indicates Israel won’t cooperate with UN probe

The UN Human Rights Council (HRC), which this week appointed a commission to investigate Israel’s conduct during the month-long Operation Protective Edge, lends legitimacy to such terror groups as the Islamic State and Hamas, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday.

Netanyahu said the commission should look elsewhere, not Israel, for war crimes, and intimated that Israel would not cooperate with its members, although he did not explicitly rule out such cooperation.

Most ministers oppose any dealings with the UN team, and Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman said earlier Wednesday that Israel should not cooperate with the probe.

Israel’s State Comptroller Yosef Shapira announced he would launch an investigation into the military and political leadership’s handling of Operation Protective Edge. Analysts have noted that the holding of a credible Israeli investigation into war crimes allegations could have weight in any international legal battle.

I’d sign on if I were Bibi. I’d have a massive probe ready for any U. N. official that showed up.

The idea a U. N. probe would need to take place is infuriating.

Just what does it take to convince the U. N. that Israel was under attack, and it responded like any reasonable nation would?

How do you end terrorism? You attack the terrorists!

Who knew?

Question is, who didn’t know? Well, the U. N.

Good to see leadership with some stones. BTW, where is the world outcry for the UN sitting by doing nothing in Syria and now Iraq. I thought the primary focus of the UN was to provide humanitarian aid for situations like in Iraq when Christians are getting persecuted and murdered. I know the UN is not specifically pro-Christian, but they are not even pretending to want to help at this point. Why is no one calling them out on this yet?

The Current Membership of the Human Rights Council has some serious human rights violators sitting in judgment of Israel.

Cuba, China, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela and Viet Nam

Why would anyone subject themselves to the judgment of such a collection of hypocrites.

The world community is really over playing their hands.

One fine day in the not too distant future, Israel will be forced to come to the rational conclusion they will be blamed for the worst no matter what, so their only hope is to use overwhelming force to conduct total war against the enemy and defeat Hamas and the PLO in conventional military term once and for all.

The world community will scream and threaten, but how much more can they scream and threaten than they already do. Israel has a first and second strike nuclear capability that puts them in the top 10, maybe top 5 countries not to be messed with.

Good.

No need to cooperate with a shakedown.

Bibi is the only true leader in the world today.

The UN is an enemy combatant along with Hamas. The UN has been supplying money and hiding missiles for Hamas.

Israel needs to stop any cease fires; go after Hamas with a vengeance and not relent until every degenerate member of Hamas is dead.

Yes but...... civilians were killed in Gaza. That is a war crime.

The fact is there is a demand by these fools for no war at all. To criminalize war is their goal as a means to end the concept. They are successful. Our President is a follower of their belief and cringes at the thought of any mortal actions. He knows such action will result in being labeled war criminal.

The so-called Human Rights Council (Cuba, China, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela and Viet Nam and more) reflect the underlying sickness behind the UN. It's an agency that gives power and protection to some of the worst dictators in the world.

Without the UN - petty thugs would be unable to stop better run and more humanitarian countries from taking them over.

The UN is a dictator protection organization - and should be treated as such.

Once again Netanyahu sees beyond illusions and lies. Good for him - good for Israel.
