Study: Proposed EPA Ozone Regulation Costliest in U.S. History

A study commissioned by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) on the impact of a proposed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation shows that it could be the costliest federal rule by reducing the Gross National Product by $270 billion per year and $3.4 trillion from 2017 to 2040 and adds $2.2 trillion in compliance costs for the same time period.

The study, conducted by the National Economic Research Associates Economic Consulting, also predicts that reducing the parts per billion ozone standard from the current 75 to 60 could result in 2.9 million fewer job equivalents (total labor income change divided by the average annual income per job) each year on average through 2040, and increase energy costs from manufacturers and consumers.

That was last week. Same week as coffee was bad for you now it’s good for you. Maybe they should fly some of the ozone to the hole in the atmosphere. They confuse and confound me almost daily. Just LUTFA and carry on. Folks did just fine eating what they wanted, smoking, drinking, driving too fast, whatever. Bottom line is....the death rate for humans is still 100%. They just want us to be as miserable as possible until we reach our termination/expiration date.

The irony of this is that the areas in my state anticipated to be hardest hit are the most liberal part of the state. Sadly, though, lost revenue there means the rest of the state picks up the slack.

When we get control of our country back, back in the hands of adults, back in the hands of sane people with a perception of reality we must first remove from our government all the fairy tales put in place by the insane children of the Left. Lots of people will be out of work, but it will free up industry of the burdens the insane children have put upon our economy under the guise of saving the planet that doesn’t need saving, and more jobs than are lost in government will be opened up in private sector.

We have to get the economy rolling again if for nothing else our national security. A weak economy is a weak nation is a vulnerable nation.

King Obama is getting desperate.

He has been in office over 5 1/2 years and hasn’t been able to totally destroy the American economy yet.
And he hasn’t been able to disarm us pesky constitutionalists.

He knows he only has a little over two years left to complete his goal of fundamentally changing America to a disarmed, white minority, socialist, muslim run, third world economic disaster.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

OK!! All you second graders pay attention!

Ozone doesn't have anything to do with climate, global warming, or CO2.

But, the process by which ozone is produced is photochemical, takes place in the presence of sunlight. So, during the summer when days/sunlight are longer, more ozone is produced than during the winter when days are shorter with less sunlight.

Bill Clinton lowered the ozone level to 0.08 ppm and they said it would destroy the nation, but it didn't.

George Bush lowered it to 0.075 ppm and they said it would destroy the nation, but it didn't.

Now, we don't know if Obama will lower it further or how much he might lower it, but if he does, they say it will destroy the nation.

And if you go back over 40-50 years, whenever congress enacted environmental laws, they always said it would destroy the nation. But it never did

Appreciate your response. Just want to say I haven’t seen “Congress” enact environmental laws with this administration, have you? Seems that’s been left to the Leftist bureaucrats, and apparently Congress gave them their rubber stamp with a well saturated ink pad as well.

I am 110% convinced that the EPA was given a mission of slowing the production and material output of every industry that has a tag of Made in the USA. Their goal is to bring these third world countries to the forefront. The CFR globalists are trying to get a level playing field for their New World Order.

"I haven't seen Congress enact environmental laws with this administration"

They tried, but failed, in 2009 and 2010 with CO2 regulations. Remember cap and trade?

There may be others that I don't recall or possibly amendments to older legislation.

And of course judicial decisions carry the weight of law. Congress' attempt at cap and trade was in response to a SCOTUS decision(2007) and Obama/EPA regs on CO2 were/are a result of that same SCOTUS decision.

Obama's first set of regs on CO2 dealing with new permits was put in place in 2010 after Congress failed at cap and trade. Obama/EPA was sued after he implemented those regs and that had to go all the way back to SCOTUS and they ruled on that in mid june, 2014.

Then around June 1, 2014, Obama implemented his new CO2 regs on existing permits. Two lawsuits have already been filed and more will probably be filed but that will have to go all the way back to SCOTUS.

If you believe in miracles, come Jan 17, 2017, the GOP will control the House, 60 seats in the senate, and the presidency.
