Ron Paul: Dont Palestinians Have a Right to Defend Themselves Too?
Ron Paul Institute
August 5, 2014
Speaking on Voices of Liberty, RPI Chairman and Founder Ron Paul explains that, while he agrees with the often repeated in the media declaration that Israel has a right to defend herself, he wonders why more people in the media dont voice support for Palestinians right to defend themselves too.
Paul elaborates:
And [Israel Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu says 'Dont second-guess me, dont push a peace treaty on me because Im gonna defend this country.' I think Israel absolutely has a right to do this, but never once have I heard on TV it might have been said, but I havent heard it yet that the Palestinians have a right to defend themselves because they must feel oppressed. You know, they cant go anywhere. They cant go back and forth to Israel. They cant go into Egypt. So they feel pretty well trapped too, but nobody says that this entrapment they have gives them a right to defend themselves from being imprisoned in this particular area.
Paul then expresses his desire that the US government would just keep out of the conflict and stop its funding of Palestine and much larger funding of Israel, including $225 million dollars more for Israels Iron Dome system that Congress passed on Friday. Paul suggests this foreign aid creates a moral responsibility in the US for deaths of innocent people.

In addition to suffering from severe restrictions on their ability to travel and the ongoing war, Gazans have also been subject to a trade blockade. Read here a brief account of some ways in which long-term blockade of Gaza and the ongoing war combine to make life in Gaza difficult.
There’s parts missing from this guy’s gear box.
Those fake brows are exhibit A for the phoniness of the Pauls. They are considered such rebels and pure and above the tawdry game of image by their bot followers - and yet, everything they do is more calculated and more cynical than almost any other political family I know
..right down to Ron's decision to wear cheap off the K Mart rack suits and Rand's "hipster" jeans and clogs with a coat and tie. It all makes me sick. And oh, they make stupid statements too.
Just keep talkin’,Dad!Sonny-Boy needs to be seen for what he REALLY IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-—Strange musings from Dr Paul. ——
Not really...just his run of the mill moonbattyness...
Truly the odd couple LOL
“right to defend themselves too.”
From WHAT?????? Two countries border Gaza, and neither wants it.
Somebody ask Ron Paul who dug tunnels so they could launch suicide bombers and attacks? How many times has Israel launched a suicide bomber agains’t Palestine? Who sends daily rocket fire into Israel? Who kidnaps and kills teenagers?
Once again there is a focus on blame, which in this situation it seems the two sides can go back 3000 years.
That is not productive.
Israel is not going anywhere. The Palis are not going anywhere. The simple choice is to just stop shooting at each other and decide to live. Living in peace is a choice.
Neither side seems interested in this choice. Although it seems that the Palis are less interested.
“... the Palestinians have a right to defend themselves because they must feel oppressed. You know, they cant go anywhere. They cant go back and forth to Israel.”
I wonder if this little Libtardian bastard is concerned that serial killers aren’t allowed free access to his home?
Why is he oppressing them, he should remove the locks on his doors.
In other news Ron and his son were seen howling at the moon last night.
Exactly. Everyone has a right to defend themselves. But if you’re going to pick a fight, you lose your right to victim status if you’re getting creamed.
One side does... Israel. It has tried and tried and tried again, giving back Gaza complete with running businesses, allowing many palies to work in Israel, absorbing rockets, bombings, murder and mayham. There have been many wars of all sizes, that from Israel's view come after long trains of abuses.
Thanks for your clarity. Ron Paul hates a strong America.
Ron Paul and Jimmy Carter must be genetically deformed and related.
I much prefer Les Paul.

Ah, that thin line between libertarianism and moonbat leftism.
My main contention with Ron Paul and his campy followers has always been the camouflaged anti-Semitism that always pops up with their open disdain for Israel. I won’t stand for it, nor will I ever stand with them.
I don’t trust his son to have fallen far from that tree either.
