You can even carry more than $10,000 in cash across the border. You just have to declare it on your customs forms. That wouldn't keep them from jerking on the drug dog's leash and claim it is drug money, but they wouldn't be able to snatch it automatically like they can by lying on a customs form.

Didn't the unprosecuted felons at the IRS just get the power to hassle foreign banks to the point where very few of them will actually take money from peasants behind the IRS Curtain?
