Did you know that it is perfectly normal for a man to appear in public wearing pink pony ears and tail? No, really. There is nothing at all unusual about that. And if you don't believe me then I will write an overlong article trying to convince you of its complete normalcy.
Such is the attitude of Jennifer Goforth Gregory of The Atlantic who tries a bit too hard to convince the readers that men wearing flashy pony costumes is absolutely normal. The funniest thing about Gregory plugging such men aka "Bronies" is how much obvious effort she puts into this endeavor. Over and over again she reminds us that men "coming out of the stable" as they call it is perfectly acceptable male behavior. You might remember Ronan Farrow earlier this year telling us how normal the Brony lifestyle is and now Gregory continues this theme but with a lot more effort:

Maybe I’m getting old but this is f*cking nuts.
Some claim this isn’t “gay.” If it isn’t it’s sure trying damned hard to act that way!
I actually have no problem with this. They are not doing anything that should bother anybody else, and they’re not suing to try and force anyone to hold a point of view that violates anyone’s moral sensibilities. These guys are the least of any culture’s problems, and I think we need to just give it a rest and put our energies into things that really matter.
People must try to be understanding. Being a My Little Pony trapped in a human body is torture for those who have this orientation.
They are born with this condition.
It was much worse when they lived in this state, and “My Little Pony” wasn’t even invented yet, so they didn’t even understand WHAT they were feeling!
The Current FReepathon Pays For The Current Quarters Expenses?
No, they need mockery.
I take issue with your use of ‘guys’ but otherwise I’d agree.
Has Silky Pony Edwards gone Brony?
Still doesn’t make it normal, nor should it be made to appear to be so.
Speaking as one who is has enjoyed episodes of the s I have to ask the following question. Do you still like Charlie Brown, or Roadrunner, or Bugs Bunny?
I would like to point out that the costume photograph was at an event much like costumes at any costume party. Or to look at it in a different light are pictures of people in their game time regalia of their favorite sports franchise open to ridicul because they are dressed for an event possibly even with face paint?
No I did not read the article, I’m responding solely to the commentary by fellow freepers oh wait creepers are made fun of too..... Ironic.
Autospell got me creepers ment to be freepers...or....
I disagree with you there. When adult men descend to this kind of thing, it's a sign of serious cultural decay.
Stop being rational!
I did this! It was fun! When I was a five-year-old girl.
