The University of California at Davis Medical School recently received a five-year, $1 million grant from the American Medical Association, which gives the school’s medical students the option to become primary care physicians in just three years through the establishment of a new program called Accelerated competency-based Education in Primary Care.

Despite some concerns, as medical student Ngabo Nzigira admitted in a recent Capital Public Radio interview, “I thought, ‘Oh man, you want me to put the intensity and stress that is medical school in four years, you want me to condense it down to three years. I’m not sure about that,’” the program has many assets that extend beyond producing doctors faster. According to Capital Public Radio, ACE-PC students are guaranteed a residency.

Primary care will devolve from an actual doctor to a government bureaucrat gatekeeper whose main job will be to hand out cheap pills and prevent people from seeing actual specialists. Some HMOs do this now albeit with foreign doctors that supposedly have actual medical training. The government will take it to the next step. And in the step after that, you probably just step into a chamber that dispenses some sort of gas to make you feel better.

Why not just let anyone take a “competency test” and become doctors immediately? That is where the communists amongst us have this heading. We don’t need no steenkin’ standards!

Cookie cutter “doctors” produced at the California Assembly plant. How long until Silicon Valley will be turning out animatronic pseudo-humanoid androids designed to take over these functions?

With production outsourced to China, of course.

Dr. Gregory House, they won’t be. Can’t program in that much mean.

Nothing to worry about. If you’re a minority you’ll sail right through the course and graduate and get a high paying job.
I’m glad I don’t live in California.

I am sometimes seen by my doctor, sometimes by his PA. The PA is much quicker to refer me to a specialist if she thinks it’s warranted. I’ve heard other people say this too…

BUT, if I need an honest-to-goodness doctor, I’d like one who is extremely well educated and who has been in practice for several years.

We once had the best health care delivery systems in the world.

And it seems as if that was only a few short years ago, doesn't it?

Oh! Wait.....

That's because it was only a few years ago.

I guess that's what "Fundamental Change" can do.

That would be 2nd graders. K + 1 + 2.

But even they wouldn’t let Ebola into the US.

Home schooled children could probably do it in 3 years with no problems.
