A physician at the one remaining abortion clinic in Mississippi argued that those who object to abortion on religious grounds are overlooking the sacred decision made by those who go to such clinics. Appearing on MSNBC, Dr. Willie Parker took issue with the vocal, well-organized numerical minority who support protecting the lives of unborn babies.
The fierce opposition to women making this, what for them is a sacred decision, is ever-present in at least every place that Ive been, he said. He referred to his role with the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, which argues that a womens choice to take the life of her unborn child is equally sacred.
Parker said he didnt think that sincere but misguided pro-life advocates would change their minds because they are convinced they are doing the right thing.
In a profile last month, Parker told Esquire that he believes the religious arguments made by Antis, which is what he calls pro-life advocates, are largely about controlling the sexuality of women.
Parkers comments about the sacredness of abortion echo those of Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. When asked about the gruesome Kermit Gosnell case last year, she responded, As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this.
And if it's okay when a baby is most vulnerable, then it's okay at age 3 or 5 or 7.....
Pelosi said abortion was sacred ground for her too.
This man is more perceptive than those who just shrug as if abortion is the same as having your nails cut. He recognizes that it’s a human sacrifice.
Remember, the separation of church and state only applies to Christians. Abortionists can see their practice as a sacrament and still get govt dollars for it.
It is “sacred” in the sense that it goes against all that is sacred.
“Sacred means revered due to association with holiness.”
Another word down the drain.
Jihad, also a sacred decision
I suppose it is indeed sacred if your God is Moloch.
