To be honest, the only US exports I can see in Russia are cheap alcohol(mostly Cali wines), frozen chicken legs (aka “Bum fodder” or “Bush’s legs” after old Bush)-by far the most affordable food but it looks really awful, Jeep/Chrysler vehicles and civilian firearms (Remington rifles, Eothech sights).

US says Russia farm sanctions will increase its isolation

...and probably push up inflation.

Do you think Obie could have come up with some way to punish Russia that didn’t involve shafting American farmers? Like, for example, 24/7 flyovers by drones with P.A. systems playing his “best” speeches....

Nah... that’d be a Geneva Convention violation...

I notice that Putin has not threatened to forbid his people from engaging in international identity theft and computer fraud. His gangster friends are still open for business.

Note to Pootie Poo.....cutting off ones nose to spite ones face really doesn’t work. Enjoy your cabbage and vodka, hope you weren’t too attached to eating beef, fish, fruit, etc. What’s next, banning the dollar and euro? How’d that work out for your predecessors?

Well, this will raise prices for ordinary Russians and put pressure on those businesses in Russia that export to the US. Trade wars hurt everyone and Putin will learn that lesson.

Hopefully, most of what the Russians import is bacon and prices will slide.

This is going to hit the ag sector pretty hard. Though to be fair, Russia has had a long term goal to make all of their foodstuffs at home for a decade now. The issue was quality, and they have made great advances in that.

Good, given food price inflation it might be nice to have more supply heare at home.

Not a smart move on Russia’s part, better to wait out Europe, and the US, than to hurt oneself with the cost of living.

Food competes with fuel, if a farmer sells less food they will sell more corn for fuel.

Lots of hairy ugly US men looking for love will soon have to find other venues than Russia. Some of these males post their nonsense here...I see. OTOH Russians will be spared hormone laden US agri beef...Brazil produces far better...
